Vice President Joseph Biden at the United States ended on Monday in the Costa Rica meeting with the leaders of Central American countries pledged to provide financial assistance to countries in the region only after the United States come from the economic crisis.

Biden also told the leaders of Central American countries on how the U.S. intends to build its relations with Cuba.
U.S. President Barak Obama is ready to establish contacts with the Cuban leadership, but that does not mean that we are ready to cancel the economic blockade, – said vice-president.
We believe that the tensions in our relations should be mitigated, and we expect that future relations between Cuba and the United States to undergo change, – said Biden.
Obama became the first U.S. president, declared their readiness to begin a dialogue with the Cuban leadership. He has already taken some steps to improve relations between the two countries. For example, in March signed a decree, under which Cubans residing in the United States are allowed to go home to visit relatives once a year rather than every three years as previously.
In his visit to San Jose Biden met with the presidents of Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, the Prime Minister of Belize, as well as the Special Representative of Honduras and Nicaragua.
The meeting discussed the preparations for the Fifth Summit of the Americas, which will be held 17-19 April in Trinidad and Tobago.
